Reynolds Is Here!

And isn't he the cutest? He arrived on 9/1/07 but I've been so busy I haven't had a minute to start his page. He's a lovable ball of fluff who is simply starved for affection. He is very much a puppy in personality, needs to learn some manners (counter surfer & he's a jumper) he looks to me for guidance and is very food motivated and smart and from what I've observed he will be a good candidate for obedience and even for some sort of agility. He can run circles around my other dogs and I've never seen a dog jump so high when he gets going outside! He knows "out" and lays down when I say "sit" but we're working on that, he also loves to ride in the car with his wet nose touching me. He is crate trained (I leave him in the crate for 4 hrs with a Kong filled with peanut butter & treats) and housebroken and is sweet as can be. He gets along great with the kids, the dogs and even the cats who will sleep on the bed near him.

Reynold's adoption info. is listed HERE . Just click on Arkansas Southern Dog Rescue link, then click "see pets at this shelter" and finally click on Reynolds to find out more about him.

His previous foster mom writes:
Reynolds is a friendly Golden Retriver/Chow/Shepherd Mix. He really wants to be loved and petted. He is very loving and playful. He likes to play outside, but really likes to lounge in your lap in front of the tv. He is about 1-2 years old, and is fully vetted. His most charming feature is his dark, brooding eyes. He really wants to go home with you... Reynolds loves children and other dogs. Reynolds was found abandoned after a rainstorm with 2 small dogs, lonely and afraid....

A Happy Ending!

Woody continues to live a life of fun and leisure. Here he is after a swim in the lake behind his new house. I didn't know the little bugger was a swimmer because he wouldn't go near our pool. The next foster dog is getting on the puppy bus Thursday (with any luck). His trip has been postponed for weeks due to vacation and bus repairs.

Woody is living in luxury!

My sweet, little velcro foster dog Woody who had been bounced around from his so-called-forever-home to shelter, to foster, to foster and then to me has finally found his forever home. He is living it up in the White Mountains of NH and gets to spend time canoeing (!) and driving around with his new loving owner.

Though my dogs and cats don't seem too heart-broken, Woody will be missed by my family and I. It really hit me one afternoon when I placed four bowls on the counter at meal-time and filled them before realizing I only had three dogs and Woody was gone. I got used to seeing his sweet face and attention grabbing antics and will miss the little guy.

Woody's Info

I am all set to find my forever home. I've gained some much needed weight, my coat looks super shiny and gorgeous and I've even gained the confidence to run around in the backyard here with these two giant-sized dogs. I am happy and healthy but I'd really love a home all of my own where I can get tons of hugs and attention from my own humans.

You can adopt me by clicking HERE or visiting HERE!

Woody making himself comfy

Here I sit on my comfy new bed. My new caretakers attempt to nudge me off, saying silly things like they need some space, but I usually plant myself down good and am so darn cute they find me hard to resist. The other dogs here give me jealous glares because they're too big to fit on the bed but I don't let them bother me any. As long as I'm comfortable, well that's all that matters! I'm a happy, friendly boy and am liking life here in NH.

Woody Has Arrived!

I just picked up Woody after his long journey from Arkansas. He hopped off the Got Orphan's transport bus with his tail wagging and eagerly jumped right into the crate in my car without hesitation. He's a 5 1/2 year old german shepard mix and is much smaller than I anticipated (but then I'm used to my oversized monsters!). He probably weighs 40 something lbs and seems very thin. He has the sweetest personality and the cutest little face and walks very well on the leash. I've taken him back to work with me so he can rest a bit before meeting my pack. Tonight should be interesting!

Woody was an owner surrender and previously an outside only dog. He was injured by another dog and has some scarring on his side and leg but despite everything he's super friendly and seems to crave attention.

This Blog is for the Dogs

We are in the process of becoming a temporary foster home for homeless dogs who otherwise don't stand a chance of survival in over-crowded kill shelters. This is the spot where I'll post pictures and information for prospective adopters to learn about the day to day life as our foster settles into our fur-filled home.

Our first foster dog will be arriving from Arkansas any day and I'll update the blog then. For now, if you're in the NH area and looking for a new friend check out these cute faces at the Nashua Humane Society .
